What Happened in Chapter 4?
Boruto uses his newly learned Flying Raijin Jutsu to locate Code and the Ten Tails in Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 4. However, Boruto only finds Code, and the two can’t find the Ten Tails. A mysterious figure with the Rinnegan appears, and Boruto confirms that its actually a Divine Tree. Code is troubled by Boruto’s comments, and the strange being responses by confirming Code’s suspicions.
In order to combat the Divine Tree, Boruto cancels the Uzuhiko placed on Code. Puzzled by the current situation, Code ask Boruto about what’s actually going on, and the Divine Tree provides some answers. The Divine Tree reveals that their original driving instinct is to suck the chakra out of all living beings and form chakra fruits. However, Code seemingly kickstarted an evolutionary process for the Divine Trees, causing them to awaken self awareness and become human-like.
Meanwhile, Sarada, Kawaki, and interim Hokage Shikamaru discuss the recent happenings i the Hidden Leaf Village. After some back and forth, Sarada relays her feelings on the situation involving Boruto, confronting Kawaki and declaring that Boruto is not the enemy of the village. Shikamaru takes note of her words, since Boruto may actually know something about the current crisis involving the Divine Tree.

Moreover, Code sides with the Divine Trees for now due to a shared common goal, and Boruto escapes with the Flying Raijin once more. He arrive in a safe location where a strange Divine Tree overlooks a valley. Koji Kashin appears from behind the Divine Tree as a collaborator with Boruto, seemingly mirroring the relationship Jiraiya and Naruto had in the past. Lastly, Koji and Boruto rest and prepare for their next move, and the final panel of the chapter reveals that Sasuke is dormant with the Divine Tree.
