What Happened in Frieren Episode 14?

In Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End episode 14, Fern gets angry at Stark, since he forgot to give Fern a birthday present. She lashes out at Stark, prompting him to cry and remain upset. Sein calms the situation down and offers some wisdom, and he helps Fern reach back out to Stark to apologize properly. Stark reveals that he was planning to get Fern a gift, but he didn’t know what to give to her. The two made up and decided to buy a bracelet together, and the scene sets the theme for the rest of the episode.

Frieren and her party find a merchant in Bande Woods, allowing them to hitch a ride in his wagon. However, an avian creature attacks the wagon, and Frieren loses her precious ring in the commotion. This ring was given to Frieren by Himmel, and it actually has the same design as the bracelet that Stark bought for Fern. Sein discusses that the unique design represents “Eternal Love.” Himmel gave the ring to Frieren as a symbol of his love for her, and she cherishes that ring for the memories associated with him. Frieren uses a magic spell to find the ring, and Frieren and Fern discuss Stark’s gift at the end of the episode.

The mage Frieren defeated the Demon King alongside the hero Himmel’s party after a 10-year quest. Peace was restored to the kingdom. Because she is an elf, she is able to live over a thousand years. She promises Himmel and the others that she will be back to see them and then sets out on a journey by herself. Fifty years later, Frieren goes to visit Himmel and the others. She remained unchanged, but Himmel and the others have aged and only a little of their lives remain. Later, she witnesses Himmel’s death. Frieren is pained by her desire to have spent more time getting to know people. With that regret in her heart, she then goes on a journey to do just that. On her journey, she meets many people and many events await her.
