What Happened in Frieren Episode 13?
In Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End episode 13, Frieren and the group meet Sein, who tells many stories about a missing friend. Sein invites them to his village, but the group declines the offer. Shortly after, Stark gets bitten by a poisonous snake and must be treated immediately, or else his brain will bleed out of his nose. The group quickly head to Sein’s village and meet a priest, who turns out to be Sein’s older brother.
Sein heals Stark, and Frieren is impressed by his healing magic prowess. She also notices a particular holy badge hanging from the priest’s neck. This badge was handed down to the priest by Helter, Frieren’s old traveling buddy. The group agrees that Sein should be the next addition to the group in order to prevent medical emergencies. Sein’s older brother also encourages him to become an adventurer too.
Sein refuses to join after a poker game with Stark, but Frieren continues to insist that he joins for days on end. Eventually, he’s reminded again of his missing friend, but still refuses after Frieren blows him a kiss from afar. This kiss doesn’t land the mark, however. Sein’s older brother slaps his face, telling him that he can’t miss this opportunity to finally search for his friend or else he will regret this for the rest of his life. Sein finally agrees to join the group, leading fans into Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End episode 14.

Lastly, Crunchyroll’s overview of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End reads:
The mage Frieren defeated the Demon King alongside the hero Himmel’s party after a 10-year quest. Peace was restored to the kingdom. Because she is an elf, she is able to live over a thousand years. She promises Himmel and the others that she will be back to see them and then sets out on a journey by herself. Fifty years later, Frieren goes to visit Himmel and the others. She remained unchanged, but Himmel and the others have aged and only a little of their lives remain. Later, she witnesses Himmel’s death. Frieren is pained by her desire to have spent more time getting to know people. With that regret in her heart, she then goes on a journey to do just that. On her journey, she meets many people and many events await her.
