Niantic and Capcom the Monster Hunter Now “Fulminations in the Frost” update is available now with new monsters, the popular Lance and Dual Blades weapons, and much more. A new “Hunt-a-thon” feature is coming soon as well.
Fulminations in the Frost is the first season and first major update of Monster Hunter Now. Over 10 million players have already begun their journey in Monster Hunter Now, and future updates will add compelling new features and content, similarly to post-launch support for Monster Hunter Rise.
Monster Hunter Now Enters Fulminations in the Frost
The Fulminations in the Frost update for Monster Hunter Now introduces Zinogre, Banbaro, Barioth, and Radobaan alongside the two small Cortos and Wulg monsters. The fan-favorite Lance and Dual Blades are also available, offering extended reach and close-range options for hunters. Players may use these weapons on snow-covered fields, and the new “sleep” attribute is now in the game. Moreover, a number of balance adjustments were implemented, and a changelog may be found at the official website.
On December 15, the new Hunt-a-thon feature will be available. During a Hunt-a-thon, players must work together to hunt five monsters that appear one after another in a 30-minute duration. Players will be notified of an incoming Hunt-a-thon 30 minutes prior to the opening. Once notified, players wanting to participate in the event must move to that location.
The very first Hunt-a-thon will be “Zinogre’s Onslaught,” which lasts until December 17. Players must be Hunter Rank 11 or higher to participate in the Hunt-a-thon alone or with other players. Moreover, players can participate in a Hunt-a-thon every 180 minutes, but a ticket (150 gems) can skip the cooldown time. Rewards from completing Hunt-a-thon includes Hunter Medals.
