EVO revealed its main games lineup for EVO Japan 2024. Shown were seven fighting games, with several newcomers featured. The rest of the titles in the lineup were also present at EVO 2023.
In August this year, the EVO 2023 major tournament announced the dates for EVO Japan 2024. However, players received no information about the featured games for the upcoming event. This changed today when EVO announced what their fighting game lineup would look like.
EVO Japan 2024 Lineup
The full lineup of EVO Japan 2024 fighting games are below:
- Street Fighter 6
- Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
- Guilty Gear Strive
- Tekken 8
- King of Fighters XV
- Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
- Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes
The total prize pool for the event is ¥14,000,000, which is approximately $94,156. If a player wins first place in one of the games, they win ¥1,000,000. In United States currency, this rephrases to $6,751. Second, third, fourth, and fifth-place players will also receive payment.
Aside from Guilty Gear Strive and King of Fighters XV, every other game on this list would be a newcomer. This is a chance for those games to display themselves at an EVO event. Street Fighter II: 3rd Strike, in particular, is an older fighting game still played today. This would be the first time that the game is on an EVO Japan main lineup. The viewing experience should be fresh this time for viewers and players alike.
