Crunchyroll have announced that their digital manga app will no longer be available on both mobile and app on December 11. Manga will now be available through their online store service.

Crunchyroll is attempting to streamline several of their benefits throughout their service. Recently, they announced that they will be adding a game vault to their list of benefits. Games will be available without ads or in-app purchases, allowing Mega and Ultimate Fan members to fully enjoy mobile titles without distractions. This is in addition to Crunchyroll’s vast streaming library of anime with popular series like SPY x FAMILYAttack on Titan, and One Piece.

Crunchyroll Ending Digital Manga App Next Month

In a statement sent to Anime News Network, Crunchyroll confirmed that they will be ending their digital manga app on both mobile and web on December 11. Their statement says the following:

“As a part of Crunchryoll’s ongoing commitment to providing fans with the best experiences around their favorite series, we will be sunsetting the Crunchyroll manga application on December 11 across web and mobile. However, fans looking to discover new manga adventures can head over to the Crunchyroll Store, which now offers more than 17,000 manga across genres.

“Fans can also enjoy other benefits of a Crunchyroll Mega Fan or Ultimate Fan membership, including Crunchyroll Game Vault, which includes a growing catalog of free-to-play titles across iOS and Android.”

Last month, Crunchyroll also announced that their service will also be available through Amazon Prime. Prime members can pick from two Crunchyroll membership plans: Fan ($7.99/month in the U.S.) or Mega Fan ($9.99/month). Both tiers allow viewers to watch the entire Crunchyroll library and new episodes as they air without ads. Further, those who purchase the Mega Fan tier can download episodes for offline viewing.

Crunchyroll will likely reveal more details on new benefits that will be available on the service in the coming weeks and months. Lastly, the Crunchyroll Digital Manga app will no longer be available on both mobile and web devices on December 11.
