Another major milestone for the Persona series.

In a new Persona Channel news post, SEGA and ATLUS announced Koei Tecmo and Omega Force-developed action RPG Persona 5 Strikers surpasses 2 million copies sold. The game’s director shared a special message with fans regarding the game’s latest sales milestone.

Persona 5 Strikers first launched on February 20, 2020 for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan. The game would come to Asia and South Korea on June 18, 2020, and the western release would follow on February 21, 2021. A Steam version was released with the western launch as well.

    Persona 5 Strikers Sales Update

To celebrate over 2 million copies sold for Persona 5 Strikers, ATLUS lifted restrictions regarding video upload and streaming guidelines for the game. Moreover, game director Daisuke Kanada shared a message to thank fans for their continued support.

Kanada’s full message is available below via Persona Central:

Persona 5 Strikers, or P5S, was released on February 20, 2020. At that time, we talked about how unusual it was to have so many ‘2’s. But thanks to all of you, we were able to welcome a new ‘2’.

P5S has sold over 2 million copies worldwide… I couldn’t be happier. I would like to thank so many people for their support. Thank you very much.

Recently, I have had the opportunity to watch playthrough videos of P5S. Every time I see various people laughing or being moved by this game, I feel truly grateful that we were able to make P5S.

I believe it’s the passion and skills of everyone at Koei Tecmo Games, ω-Force, and the hard work of the Atlus members who walked this path together that led to this result.

As we approach the release of Persona 5 Tactica, Joker’s battle continues. Both I and the staff involved in this title take pride in this result and we will continue to do our best.

Once again, thank you to everyone who supported us!!
