Shortly before the game’s fourth anniversary, Cygames reveals that World Flipper will be ending service on February 20, 2024. The company also provided a schedule of events leading up to the game’s permanent shutdown.
World Flipper originally released on November 27, 2019 in Japan on Android and iOS. The game would make its western debut on September 8, 2021 via publisher Kakao Games. Unfortunately, the game’s worldwide run comes to an end as the Japanese version ends service.
World Flipper Reaches End of Service
In an official notice, Cygames confirms that World Flipper will reach its end of service on February 20, 2024 in Japan. Moreover, in-game purchases will cease on December 18 this year. A refund application period will be held at a later date for paid in-game currency that was not used before the end of service deadline. Once February 20 comes around, the game will be taken offline, and an update will allow players to view the Stargazing Encyclopedia at any time.
Moreover, Kakao Games released an official statement regarding the end of service for World Flipper in Japan. Unsurprisingly, the global version will be shutting down. An exact end of service date is being discussed internally at Kakao Games, and more details will be revealed at a later date.

The Future Service Plans of World Flipper Global
As announced today on the Japanese server’s official website, service for World Flipper Japan is scheduled to end on February 20, 2024.
Accordingly, the global server is also expected to come to an end, but discussions are underway on specifics such as the exact end of service date and updates until that period. Until the end of service date is set for the global version, updates will continue at the same pace as before.
