The staff of the upcoming anime The Elusive Samurai has revealed a character trailer for Ayako. The anime will premiere in 2024.
Assassination Classroom author Yasei Matsui launched The Elusive Samurai manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2021. The series is still ongoing more than two years later. The upcoming anime will be developed by CloverWorks (SPY x FAMILY).
The Elusive Samurai Ayako Trailer
The latest trailer for The Elusive Samurai shows off one of the series’ protagonists, Ayako. Sayumi Suzushiro will provide the voice of the character. The anime’s staff released another character trailer last month, showing off Shizuku. It is likely more character trailers will be revealed soon. Check out the official trailer for Ayako below:

- Yūichi Nakamura as Suwa Yorishige
- Hinaki Yano as Shizuku
- Mari Hino as Kojirō

- Aoi Yūki as Kazama Genba
- Kikunosuke Toya as Fubuki
Yuta Yamazaki is directing the new anime series at CloverWorks. Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us and Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! chief animation director Yasushi Nishiya serves as character designer for the anime.

After the massacre of his family by the traitor Ashikaga Takauji, Tokiyuki flees with the help of a handful of loyal retainers who have also survived the purge. One of them is Suwa Yorishige, an ally of the Hojo clan and lord of Suwa Province. The slightly odd Yorishige also claims to be clairvoyant and foretells that Tokiyuki will one day become the ruler of Japan. But for the moment, escaping from enemy territory is the priority!
Lastly, The Elusive Samurai anime will premiere at some point in 2024. The anime’s staff will likely reveal more cast details, character trailers, and release date information in the coming weeks and months.
