Character Recruitment Basics
There are a few basics of character recruitment to keep in mind on your adventure.
- You can only have a maximum party size of 8 total characters
- Most characters are recruited from Sub Events and Private Actions. Be sure to refer to your map often in order to stay as up-to-date as possible.
- There are a couple of characters that are only available to one of the two protagonists. So choose wisely in order to get who you really want!
- Some characters require you to decline another character’s offer to join you in order to get.
As long as you remember these basics, it’ll be a cinch to get what characters you want. However, sometimes there are extra requirements that you must complete in order to complete the recruitment process.
How to Recruit Welch in Star Ocean: The Second Story R
Welch actually wasn’t in the original game; she was added in the PSP version, Second Evolution. She’s quite easy to get as well. Just complete the Armory Contest and perform a Private Action in Laceur. Go towards the bridge in town that leads to the castle, and you’ll get an event where she introduces herself. Here, you can accept or deny her request to join you. However, if you progress much further in the story without doing this, she will become unavailable to recruit.
