SEGA revealed various updates for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis releasing in November 2023, and a new Black Lagoon collab is coming in December. Moreover, the previously announced Frame Arms Girl collab will arrive on November 22.
Currently, the limited-time Halloween ’23 event is live with Reaper Rappies roaming the world. Central City and Retem City have been decorated for the Halloween festivities, and special Halloween Scratch Tickets are available. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis players will have even more to look forward to during the month of November 2023.

New Rank Added to the Retem Alnothe Combat Sector on November 1
Starting November 1st, a new Rank will be added to the Retem Alnothe Combat Sector and will feature both Starless and a new boss enemy. A Title Task for defeating enemies is also on the way, so take down foes in this new Rank for Retem Alnothe and earn yourself a Title. In addition, a Limited-time Task will be added to coincide with the ongoing Limited-time Halloween ’23 Event. By completing this Title Task, players can earn rewards like Halloween ’23 SP Scratch Tickets.
Giant Mutants Lurk in Retem on November 8
For a limited time starting November 8th, Giant Mutants will be lurking in the Exploration Sectors in Retem. Garongo Geo and Waulon Geo can be lured out by following the Task Markers and defeating Dread Enemies. During the event, high-level Giant Mutants and Dread Enemies will appear in North and South Retem, so make sure you’re well-prepared before you take them on. A Limited-time Daily Task and Weekly Task will also be added to coincide with the arrival of the Giant Mutants. Complete these Tasks to earn rewards such as Halloween ’23 SP Scratch Tickets.
Urgent Quest: Omen of the Planetbreaker Begins November 15
The new Urgent Quest: Omen of the Planetbreaker will be available starting November 15th. This quest is an Urgent Quest version of the high-difficulty Major Target Suppression Mission Quest: Sign of the Planetbreaker from August. Not only can up to 8 players fight together at once, the quest failure conditions and enemy attack power have been relaxed, making it much easier than the original Sign of the Planetbreaker. Players will also be able to take on additional Title Tasks that can be accomplished by completing this quest.
In addition, the new 10-star Rarity Flugelgard weapon series will be coming in the Urgent Quest: Omen of the Planetbreaker. At the same time, Flugelgard series drops will also be added to the Major Target Suppression Mission: Sign of the Planetbreaker and Rank 3 of the Urgent Quest: Mining Rig Defense: Retem. What makes this series unique is that for a certain period of time after a Photon Blast is activated, it has an effect that will strengthen not only you but also all of your allies. What’s more, this enhancement effect can be continued to be applied over and over. Players will have to study the strategy of Dark Falz Solus in Sign of the Planetbreaker before taking on the more difficult Omen of the Planetbreaker to earn Titles and valuable rewards. In addition,

Limited-time Quest: Special Training: Green Hill Sprint 2
Introducing the Limited-time Quest: Special Training: Green Hill Sprint 2! This quest is a twist on a quest that was released in June and features a Sonic theme and exploration at hyper-speed. Players can take this chance to feel the rush of Central City and take a Sonic-style stroll through West Aelio. Players can also partake in a Limited-time Task that can be accomplished by completing Special Training: Green Hill Sprint 2, so speed through to get your Special Scratch Tickets. Furthermore, weapons with new kinds of Preset Skills will drop in this new Limited-time Quest as well as the Urgent Quest: Omen of the Planetbreaker and the Major Target Suppression Mission: Sign of the Planetbreaker. The weapons have a variety of characteristics, such as increased Potency against weak points, increased Photon Blast Potency, and easier Photon Blast Gauge accumulation, so find the one that best suits your play style.
Starless Halvadi Vera Lands on Halpha on November 22
The powerful Starless Halvaldi Vera will land on Halpha on November 22nd. It appears on the mysterious floating island above as you fight the Dread Enemies in Rwh Maqead. It’s even stronger than the Halvaldi who appeared in the Duel Quest and is well-versed in a variety of attacks, so proceed with caution. Halvaldi Vera and level 82 Dread Enemies will drop a new mineral called Dread Scales. Dread Scales can be exchanged for the new 9-star Rarity Melek weapon series via the Dread Scale Exchange which is coming to the Item Exchange Shop.
This series is an upgraded version of the popular 5-star Rarity Relik series. The weapons look the same but have a higher performance. Players will also be able to make ones with different Potentials into Multi-weapons as they like. Halvaldi Vera might also drop weapons from the 10-star Rarity Flugelgard series, although the odds aren’t as high as that of Dark Falz Solus or the Defensive Operations for Retem introduced earlier.
Limited-time Quest: Drill: Cave Clean-Up Op Launches on November 29
This is a Transport Truck defense quest for up to 12 players. In Maqead Lower Level, Traspo’s Supply Unit Transport Truck has broken down yet again. Your mission is to protect the Transport Truck from an onslaught of enemies until Traspo can get it running again. Strategically utilize the Explosive Decoys that become available mid-quest to overcome the powerful long-range attacks unleashed by Brancles and others, as well as the intense attacks from Megalotix. New Limited-time Tasks and Title Tasks will be added that can be accomplished by completing this quest. Finish this quest to obtain Special Scratch Tickets and Titles.
In addition to 9-star-Rarity weapons like the Melek and Tisah series, there’s also a chance you’ll get 10-star-Rarity weapons from the Flugelgard series, although the drop rate for these 10-star weapons is lower than in Dark Falz Solus or Retem Defensive Operations.In addition, ARKS Records for Solo and All Classes will be held in the Trainia: Dyna Assault Rank 2.
