Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake Reveals New Features

In Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake, the number of officers has been increased from 600 to 1,000. The newly added officers give way to new events and relationships that players can experience. The “All Periods Scenarios” offers more than 55 scenarios, which is the most in series history. These scenarios will cover the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty to the final age of the Three Kingdoms period.

New visuals and voices have been added in the new remake, and the number of voices has been increased. Officers are displayed in rendered graphics speaking to players in a variety of situations, and fans may look forward to animated movies featuring full voices during important events. The battlefield map also receives a rework with a mix of 2D and 3D landscapes. Battlefields are created in 3D, while distant landscapes are rendered as ink paintings. The turn-based combat remains true in the remake, but Kou Shibusawa structured some of its features. For example, the map combines both field and siege battles, and the developers improved the tempo and balance of the game.

The new “Tales” feature lets players check the conditions, outcomes, and branching of different events. Officers may be linked through “Destiny,” which may be “Symbiotic” or “Antagonistic”. Officers may build a good relationship in the Symbiotic condition, and the Antagonistic condition makes it more likely to turn sour. As relationships deepen,  “Symbiotic” makes it easier to have a good relationship with an officer, while “Antagonistic” makes it more likely to have a bad relationship. Relationships may be tracked with the new Relationship Chart feature.
