Square Enix has announced that an anime based on the fantasy novel/manga series The Strongest Tank’s Labyrinth Raids will air in January 2024. The anime’s staff have revealed a teaser video, a key visual, cast details, and more before it premieres early next year.
Ryūta Kijima wrote and serialized the story as a web novel from 2018 to 2021. In 2019, Shufunotomo and Square Enix published both a light novel and a manga adaptation respectively. At the time of writing, the anime’s staff has not yet confirmed the exact release date of the upcoming series.
The Strongest Tank’s Labyrinth Raids Anime Details
The upcoming anime will premiere on ABC TV, TV Asashi, and twenty-two other affiliated stations. The series will be available in the “Animazing!!!” programming block next January. The cast of the series will include the following:
- Jun Kasama as Rud
- Kaede Hondo as Nin
- Kana Ichinose as Luna

The manga is available in its entirety on Square Enix’s Manga Up! service. They describe it as follows:
Rud is a tank of the Hero’s Party and is said to have the highest defense ever in history. The party often does labyrinth raids, but to Rud, it means more than just a raid. To cure his beloved sister’s illness, he is in search for the wish-granting treasure that might be hidden in those labyrinths. But one day, the arrogant hero kicks him from the party after an unsuccessful raid attempt, blaming it on his skills whose effects he is still unaware of. Without nowhere else to go and nothing to do, he decides to return to his hometown, where his sister is waiting.
On his way there, he saves a girl who was being attacked by a monster. Unexpectedly, this girl has an extremely rare skill called “Appraisal”. Thanks to her skill, Rud is able to discover the truth behind his unknown skills, which turn out to be very powerful skills. With a defense of 9999 and powerful skills, thus begins the adventure of the strongest tank, Rud!
Lastly, The Strongest Tank’s Labyrinth Raids anime will premiere in January 2024.
