Activision has revealed the first trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Zombies. The trailer showcases how the mode will differ from prior incarnations and offer an open-world experience rather than the traditional level-based format. Zombies will be available alongside MWIII on November 10.
Modern Warfare III is set to be the climax of the rebooted Modern Warfare trilogy. The game will feature a gripping story unlike anything seen in the series. It will also include the return of fan-favorite series antagonist, Makarov. Earlier this week, Activision confirmed more details about how the game’s multiplayer and open beta will work in a new trailer.
How Zombies Work in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Zombies will vary drastically from prior incarnations. Rather than being a level-based gauntlet, a format initially introduced in World at War, MWIII Zombies will be open world. Fans may immediately recognize the setting of the new mode as one of the many Warzone battle royale maps. Players can team up with their friends as they traverse a massive open world, killing zombies and acquiring special power-ups along the way. Check out the trailer for MWIII Zombies below.
The first beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will release tomorrow, October 6. The beta will be available exclusively for those who have pre-ordered the game on PlayStation consoles. The trial will include five maps: Favela, Estate, Rust, Skidrow, and High Rise.
A disclaimer at the end of the trailer states that the beta will be “available on PlayStation at least five days earlier than any other format.” This disclosure from Activision hints that an open beta may be available not long after the closed beta.
Lastly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will release on November 10. The game will be available on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
