Sony Music Entertainment has announced the SHIGETO KOYAMA CCMS experiment OBAKE exhibition. The project will highlight several creators and their works of art in manga, anime, video games, and more. The first exhibition will debut on November 9 at NowHere NYC.
Sony Music Entertainment is one of the biggest music distributors in the world. They are responsible for licensing the music of video games, movies, anime, and much more. The first exhibit, titled “SHIGETO KOYAMA CCMS experiment OBAKE,” will highlight the works of the famed illustrator Shigeto Koyama. SME Japan confirmed more details about what fans can expect from the upcoming gallery.
SHIGETO KOYAMA CCMS experiment OBAKE Exhibit Details
The first exhibit of Art x Entertainment will highlight famed artist Shigeto Koyama. The gallery will last from November 9 to November 22. Koyama is known for his work on the following: HEROMAN, Rebuild of Evangelion, Kill la Kill, Gundam Reconguista in G, and Promare. His work on each project has involved creating character designs, concepts, color designs, art direction, and more.
According to SME, Koyama will present a range of work from his critically acclaimed animated projects and expound on the creative processes at their genesis, though to him this is, “Not an ‘exhibition’ but an ‘experiment.'” They also state the following:
The exhibition begins with an emphasis on Mr. Koyama’s distinctive multidisciplinary roles to provide a deeper understanding of animated works as “mass-produced products born from collaborative efforts,” underscoring the unique humanity involved in its creation. Mr. Koyama explains, “I would like to showcase various facets of the role of a ‘designer’ in animation. I hope to convey the more intriguing aspects of ‘animation production’ and ‘design’ in a comprehensible manner.”
Sonic Music Entertainment has set up a Twitter page dedicated to the project. Lastly, the first SHIGETO KOYAMA CCMS experiment OBAKE exhibit will begin on November 9 and last until November 22.
