HoYoverse announced Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2, a new chapter that marks a major step for the game’s story and combat. Part 2 will be a new starting point for Honkai Impact 3rd with all-new main characters, NPCs, improved combat, and much more.
Last week, HoYoverse released the Version 6.9 update for Honkai Impact 3rd featuring a collaboration with Studio Trigger’s PROMARE. This particular update belongs to Part 1 of Honkai Impact 3rd, which follows a major story line involving the energy of Honkai and brave girls known as Valkyries. In Part 2, a brand-new story will begin, and HoYoverse believes this will be the starting point for many new players.
Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 Brings New Content in 2024
During the HoYoverse Tokyo Game Show 2023 Special Program, HoYoverse announced a major update for Honkai Impact 3rd is coming in February 2024. The story begins anew in Part 2 with new main characters, new NPCs, and a brand-new story. HoYoverse notes that the new main plots integrates scenes, dialogue, and the combat system together for an immersive experience. Players will also go to Mars, which is inhabitable with a bustling civilization and an abundance of nature. This planet was once regarded as unsafe for humanity in Part 1. HoYoverse teases that many mysteries exist behind the daily lives of people living on Mars.
Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 also introduces a major overhaul to the combat system. All characters will be able to jump freely in combat, and a new Astral Ring combat mechanic will bring flashier presentation to Burst Skills. Enemy diversity and actions have also been improved, so players will notice more intelligent and reactive enemies in combat. Overall, the combat will feel more polished and expressive like HoYoverse’s Zenless Zone Zero.
