CD Projekt Red has announced that the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Update will be released on Thursday, September 21. The update will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
CD Projekt Red initially released Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020. Critics panned the game for its unfinished state and deceptive marketing. The upcoming expansion, Phantom Liberty, promises to add everything the original game was missing. More information about the update was revealed during their recent Night City Wire.
Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Update Releasing Next Week
Phantom Liberty will include several different features that will overhaul the entire experience. These include the following:
- New Weapons
- Redesigned Cyberware
- Redesigned Perks
- These include new finishing animations, an air dash, a deadeye perk, and more.
- A new Relic Skill Tree
- Perks include spatial mapping, limiter removal, and more.
- New Vehicles
- Vehicle Combat
- Overhauled Police AI
- A new district
- New Story Quests and Gigs
- Mounted Weaponry on Vehicles
- Combat AI Overhaul
- Endless Dynamic Events and Features
- Increased Level Cap
- 100+ New Items

The update will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Additionally, not long after the release of the update, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be available. Phantom Liberty is an expansion that will feature a brand-new area of Night City, a new story, endings, and more. It will release on September 26. Lastly, CD Projekt Red will release the 2.0 Cyberpunk 2077 update will at no extra cost on September 21, 2023.
