    Scarlet Nexus Director Kenji Anabuki is Back in Charge of Tales of Series

    In a new interview with Japanese publication denfaminicogamer, Scarlet Nexus director Kenji Anabuki confirmed that he’s back in charge of the Tales of series. The developer temporarily left the team to develop Scarlet Nexus, but he now intends to devote his time with Bandai Namco’s leading RPG franchise once more with the support of fans.

    The latest home console entry in the Tales of series is 2021’s Tales of Arise. Earlier that same year, Bandai Namco also released a new IP in the form of Scarlet Nexus, which Anabuki devoted his time to. Now that post-launch support efforts for Scarlet Nexus are complete, the developer will shift his focus back to Tales of

    Before Scarlet Nexus, Kenji Anabuki greatly contributed to the most successful Tales of games in the series. These titles include Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Vesperia, Tales of the Abyss, and the two Tales of Xillia games. In denfaminicogamer’s latest interview, Anabuki confirms that he’s back in charge of the team overseeing the Tales of series. He intends to share his knowledge and experience with developments in the Tales of series in the future. Moreover, he’s very happy to be working with the series again and hopes fans will continue supporting him.

    Interviewer: …Is there any chance that the knowledge you gained from developing Scarlet Nexus will be returned to the Tales of series?

    Anabuki: That’s right. I temporarily left when I was developing Scarlet Nexus, but now, I am in charge of leading the group that oversees the Tales of series. About half of my life as a developer consists of the Tales of series. And Scarlet Nexus was born out of that. Therefore, I intend to return my knowledge and experience to the Tales of series in the future, so I hope “Tales of” fans will support me in this endeavor.
