Bandai Namco announced the version 1.3 update for Tales of Symphonia Remastered will release on August 22 for Nintendo Switch. This new update includes crucial fixes for crashes and other issues in the Nintendo Switch version.
The Nintendo Switch version of Tales of Symphonia Remastered faced major technical issues including frame rate dips, long loading times, crashes, and visual imperfections after launch. This past February, Bandai Namco apologized for these issues as the developers investigate potential fixes. Multiple updates have been released since then, and another update will launch tomorrow with more fixes.
Tales of Symphonia Remastered Update 1.3
Update 1.3 brings bug fixes to backgrounds and skits in the Nintendo Switch version of Tales of Symphonia Remastered. Previously, bugs would cause skits and menus to display a black or blank screen occasionally. Bandai Namco also notes that fixes to battle start sequences and dungeons will be applied with the new update.

- Fixed an issue where the background would not display, and the game would go dark when playing a “skit.”
- Fixed an issue where the background would go blank when opening the menu screen.
- Fixed an issue where the battle start sequence would not play when encountering an enemy in the field or a dungeon.
- Fixed an issue that caused the game to become inoperable in some dungeons.
- Other minor bugs have been fixed.
Fans may also look forward to the special Tales of Symphonia 20th Anniversary Festival in a few months. The event will be held at the Orix Theater in Osaka, Japan on October 21. Those attending the event can expect exclusive merchandise and special performances. Tickets are now on sale at the official website, and more details will be revealed at a later date.
