Falcom revealed several new details about Ys X: Nordics including the Time Attack and Boss Rush modes alongside Recapture Battle Skills. Time Attack and Boss Rush are returning modes, while Recapture Battle Skills are an entirely new feature.
This month, Tokyo Game Show 2023 attendees will be able to try out a Ys X: Nordics at Konami’s booth. Those who complete the demo will receive goodies like an aluminum bottle and bag. Before the game’s launch, Falcom shared a few more details about Ys X: Nordics and its features.
Time Attack and Boss Rush Modes Return in Ys X: Nordics
After finishing the main story of Ys X: Nordics, players may continue enjoying the game through the Time Attack mode from the main menu. This mode allows players to fight against the main story’s boss characters to reach a new record time for completion. Players may battle one boss after another in the returning Boss Rush mode too. Adol and Karja’s accessories, Mana Seeds, and Solo / Combination Mode skills may be adjusted before battle.
While in the naval battle portion of Recapture Battles, crew members on the Sandras may activate useful Recapture Battle Skills. These skills provide helpful bonuses in battle includes reduced damage to the Sandras, increased break damage, and much more.

Recapture Skills
- Dogi: Fleet Destroyer – Deals break damage to all enemies.
- Hugill: Rousing Neigh- Increases tension level in battle by 1 level.
- Phylleia: Matchless Inspiration – Significantly reduces damage dealt to the Sandras for 30 seconds.
- Ezer: Selfless Devotion – Increases the power of EX armaments for 40 seconds.
- Flair: Doctor’s Approach – Reduces the defense of enemy ships for 40 seconds, as well as durability.
- Momina: Material Replenish – Increases the recovery speed of EX armaments for 30 seconds (can be stacked).
- Joel: First Aid – Gradually recovers the Sandras’ HP for 40 seconds (can be stacked).
- Romes: Inventory Unlock – For 30 seconds, your shot ammo will not decrease even if special shots are fired.
- Ashley: Stay Back! = Reduces the mobility of all enemy ships for 10 seconds (can be stacked).
- Gulliver: Spirit of the Vigilantes – Increases break damage for 30 seconds (can be stacked).
- Sash: Pride of the Lighthouse Keeper – Reduces barrier pillar defense for 40 seconds.
- Milette: Cold Gaze – Reduces the attack power of all enemy ships for 40 seconds.
- Handcuffed Mandy: Curse of the Crime – Reduces the mobility of all enemy ships for 30 seconds (can be stacked).
- Guila: Doomed Invitation – Reduces the HP of enemy ships to 1 (for one to six ships).
Finally, Ys X: Nordics launches on September 28 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 with Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean language options. The Chinese and Korean versions are published by Clouded Leopard Entertainment. A worldwide release has not been announced yet.
