Rune Factory is all about growth. Growing crops, growing in skill, growing as an adventurer, and eventually growing a romance. These things take time, as you gotta grow a rapport with people and prepare yourself to have a significant other. Ya know who is a lovely candidate for a to-be bride? Carmen! Building a Relationship
There are some bare basics you must get out of the way to eventually snag the woman of your dreams. First, in order to accommodate a girl you need a bigger bed. The bed can be obtained after defeating the boss of the Oddward Valley Dungeon and then purchasing it for 15000G and 80 Wood at the Diamond General Store.
The next logical step is to of course shower your crush with conversation and gifts she likes! Don’t forget her birthday (Carmen’s is Winter 22) and be sure to take her on walks and cute dates (Heart Rank 7 and up).
Carmen can be found at the fishing resort most of the time. Her favorite items are: Seafood Pizza, Seafood Doria, Seafood Gratin, and Legendary Scale and some items she likes are Masu Trout Sashimi, Salted Masu Trout, Fried Gibelio, and Snapper.
Completing Requests
Many characters will make requests of you. Regarding requests, the bachelorettes want you to do them a few favors. Each of the requests these lovely ladies have is directly tied to how many hearts you have with them. So get that heart rank up! Do all 9 of your dream gal’s requests until all they want from you is, well you!

Crafting the Engagement Ring
In order to get the Engagement Ring you first must progress far enough in the story. This is one of the last events during the main plot, so prepare for the long haul. You are given the recipe after the Amity Fair, which unites the towns of Sharance and Univer.
In order to craft the ring you must have a level 20 crafting skill, which you can increase by crafting often. The ingredients you need are a ruby (found at Sol Terrano Desert via defeating some slime monsters) and 2 silver (found at Oddward via mining).
Proposal
Now that you have a ring and a glorious relationship it’s time to make your move! Take Carmen to one of her favorite date spots, like Oddward: Rainbow Falls. Everything is perfect, right? Now is the time to put the cherry on top of this sweet sweet sundae…
…Present your love the ring you worked so hard to get!
A Daring Rescue!
Wow. You’re probably on cloud nine right now. You just got engaged and have a gorgeous fiance. Life is just peachy. However, good things don’t last. You’ll awaken to your lady love having gone missing. She was kidnapped by the boss of the final dungeon, Aquaticus of the Dragon Cave (beach). Prepare yourself and go save her!
In order to breach this area you must first learn about it and then get to it. Talk to Carlos/Carmen. You can reach the dungeon by using Water Shoes or Lily Pad Magic Seeds. Then talk to Wells, Marjorie, and Ondorus. Now is the time. Get your things together and fight to save your love.
Newlywed Mode!
Now that the day is saved you can finally settle down and enjoy your new life! As a newlywed, you get to fully immerse yourself in the beginning of the rest of your life, together! Enjoy some quaint objectives while witnessing your love in even more detail with voice acting and a lively Live2D portrait!
