Bandai Namco announced One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 DLC characters Yamato and Kaido (Onigashima) are coming soon. These characters will be playable alongside Monkey D. Luffy (Onigashima), who is capable of activating his iconic Gear 5 form.
During One Piece Day ’23 this past July, Bandai Namco confirmed One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 would receive new DLC for the first time in nearly three years. Luffy (Onigashima) is the first new DLC character for the game as part of “The Battle of Onigashima” Pack, and his adversary from the recent One Piece anime episodes will join him.
One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 Yamato & Kaido Confirmed
A new One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 gameplay trailer highlights the move-set of DLC character Yamato, the Oni Princess and daughter of Kaido. Yamato is able to use their Haki abilities in battle to defeat waves of enemies with ease. The new gameplay trailer also confirms that Kaido (Onigashima) will be playable alongside Luffy (Onigashima) and Yamato. One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 players will soon be able to reenact the iconic battle between Luffy Gear 5 and Kaido at his full might. Gear 5 is not selectable from the start of battle since Luffy must first power up into the form, however.
In addition, fans may look forward to additional story content in the form of DLC episodes. The Additional Episodes Pack will introduce three new episodes starting with Episode 1: Yamato’s Logbook and Soul Sea Map 1. Yamato will be the main focus for various new stages, and the new Soul Sea Map brings new skills and power to existing characters. Bandai Namco did not reveal any release dates, however.

Fans may look forward to even more DLC characters coming soon after the “The Battle of Onigashima” Pack launches this September. The second DLC pack will include Uta, who was first seen in One Piece Film RED. Uta will be joined by two more DLC characters. Further, the third DLC pack includes the man who started the Great Pirate Era, Gol D. Roger. Roger is joined by as well as two more characters for a grand total of nine playable DLC characters. All nine characters may be purchased at once with Character Pass 2.
Lastly, the One Piece anime series is available to stream now on Crunchyroll. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
