RaRo announced Rail Romanesque Origin, a PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch port of romance visual novel Maitetsu: Last Run!!. The game will release on December 21 in Japan, and various physical and digital editions were detailed.
Rail Romanesque Origin will be the latest entry in the long-running Maitetsu series, which began in 2016 for PC. A comic version was serialized in 2017, and Maitetsu: Pure Station and the Rail Romanesque anime series would release in 2018 and 2020 respectively. Rail Romanesque 2 will premiere this October, and Rail Romanesque Origin releases just two months afterwards.
Rail Romanesque Origin for PS4 and Switch
Physical and digital editions of Rail Romanesque Origin will be released on December 21 for 3,800 yen and 2,800 yen respectively. A limited edition will also be available for 11,800 yen featuring a Blu-ray disc of the Rail Romanesque 2 anime and a three-disc vocal CD album. At launch, the game will feature Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language support. English support was not announced, however.
The story of Rail Romanesque Origin includes 12 scenarios and 443 episodes. Each episode may be completed in about 10 minutes or so. Overall, the game includes revamped content from the original Maitetsu, content from Maitetsu: Last Run!!, and sequels to each route.

The Great Abandoned Railroad—a railroad line that is dying with the development of new transportation technology. In the corner of this world, a young man named Soutetsu Migita encounters beautiful young women with unique desires and forgotten railroad control modules known as “Raillords,” and begins to ride the rails of restoration.
