After 12 long years, the hit romance anime Kimi ni Todoke has finally got confirmation for Season 3. The third season will premiere in 2024 on Netflix.
The original Kimi ni Todoke anime series ran from 2006 to 2017, and the Kimi ni Todoke Bangaihen spin-off series ran from 2018 to 2022. Kimi ni Todoke received two seasons running from 2009 to 2011, and a third season will arrive next year.
Kimi ni Todoke Season 3 Announced
The official website of Kimi ni Todoke has confirmed that the new season is in the works at Production I.G. Mamiko Noto and Daisuke Namikawa return as Sawako and Shōta respectively. The author of the romance manga, Karuho Shiina, also released an illustration to celebrate the announcement of the new season. They also expressed their joy that the series will be returning after such a long time.

I was very surprised and very, very happy. I was allowed to watch the dubbing, but Sawako is Sawako and Kazehaya is Kazehaya. The unity of each episode is too wonderful, so let’s enjoy it together again!”
There wasn’t much information made available as of yet but since this is a major news, we can expect it sooner or later. What we do know is that the season will be available in 2024 and will stream exclusively on Netflix. The anime is being produced by the same studio that’s making Kaiju No.8
Kimi Ni Todoke is about the freshman Sawako Kuronuma. She bears a resemblance to a fictional character that’s people are scared and thus her classmates shun her, despite her being a sweet and nice girl. When it seems like she’s given up on making friends, the popular Kazehaya befriends her and subsequently others do. She’s extremely grateful to him. The series revolves around the two’s feelings towards each other.
Kimi ni Todoke is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Season 3 will be exclusive to Netflix.
