Appearing in the mission “Operation Wallclimber”, the Juggernaut is one of the tougher encounters players will face in the first chapter of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. While it may seem difficult to cause any significant damage to this boss at first, it does have a significant weakness to take advantage of. Here’s how to beat the Juggernaut in Armored Core 6.
Preparation
It’s important to equip yourself properly before facing the Juggernaut. Choosing the right legs for this fight can make things a lot more manageable. Staying in the air is advantageous for this battle, so reverse-joint legs are highly recommended. However, anything with decent mobility should suffice.
For weapons, be sure to equip at least one with decent Impact stats. A Bazooka or a charged attack from a Linear Rifle will help greatly. It may also be wise to equip a blade and any other weapon you may want to bring with you. If you need any cash to buy these parts, it’s important to note that you can replay any previously completed mission or sell previously purchased parts for the same price you bought them for.
How to Beat the Juggernaut in Armored Core 6
The first half of the fight should be fairly simple. For this boss encounter, you will fight alongside a partner named Rusty. You must let Rusty draw attention away from the Juggernaut, as this gives you a window to attack. Don’t try attacking from the front. Once you are directly above or behind the Juggernaut, this is your chance to inflict a stagger and some serious direct damage.
Unfortunately, Rusty will eventually have to leave the player approximately halfway through the fight. With no one to distract the Juggernaut, you need to figure out how to get around it on your own. This is where a lighter build comes in handy. The use of Assault Boosts and Quick Boosts is vital in getting behind the Juggernaut.
During this phase, be sure to keep an eye out for the red, glowing mines the Juggernaut shoots out. It can hurt quite a bit if you land on one of these. This is partially why remaining in the air with a reverse-joint build is recommended. It may take a little practice, but the Juggernaut should go down pretty easily.
