Famitsu announced its September 14 issue includes a cover story regarding the 10th anniversary of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The new issue will be releasing on August 31 with a ton of information regarding the popular MMORPG.
Square Enix made several announcements at Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2023, including a new Xbox Series X|S version and the next expansion, Dawntrail. Before the new releases, fans can expect multiple patches with substantial story content and new features. The upcoming Famitsu issue should provide some more insight on what’s to come, too.
Final Fantasy XIV 10th Anniversary Famitsu Issue
The September 14 issue of Famitsu includes an extensive 58-page feature that highlights the ten-year history of Final Fantasy XIV. Results of a recent questionnaire will be revealed in the new issue. Several developers on the Final Fantasy XIV team will share special messages to commemorate the game’s 10th anniversary as well. Moreover, Famitsu confirms that the new issue will include an interview with game producer/director Naoki Yoshida. The new issue is available to pre-order/purchase on Amazon Japan.

In Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, players will embark on a new adventure in the continent of Tural, the “New World.” Erenville and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn will join the Warrior of Light into this new land, but a new “contest” will divide the Scions into two opposing groups. Players must adapt to the unfamiliar terrain, make new allies, and discover the truth behind the conflict for the Mamool Ja throne in the new expansion.
A beta for the Xbox Series X|S version will be available sometime during the patch 6.5x series of updates. The full release is planned for spring 2024. Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail will be playable on Xbox Series X|S when the expansion launches in summer 2024, and the Xbox versions will have parity with the other versions.
Lastly, Final Fantasy XIV and the latest expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, are available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail launches in summer 2024.
