My Dress-Up Darling Manga Shifts To Monthly Schedule

More pages per manga chapter as schedule changes.

The very popular romance manga My Dress-Up Darling is switching to monthly release for a temporary period. The author Shinichi Fukuda has been drawing more pages per chapters for the Mandate of Heaven arc. Drawing that many pages while on a weekly schedule would prove too difficult and might even compromise their health, like in the case of Yuki Tabata, author of Black Clover and Kohei Horikoshi of My Hero Academia.

My Dress-Up Darling Manga Goes Monthly

The next manga chapter of My Dress-Up Darling is set to release on September 15 and will be published in the Young Gangan magazine for the 18th issue. It’s not yet known for how long the monthly run for My Dress-Up Darling will last. Fortunately, each chapter will have more manga pages compared to its previous chapters. Square Enix publishes the manga under its Manga & Books branding in English.

The manga is a hit with 9.4 million copies in circulation. Their anime, which aired in Winter 2022, is even more popular. The series went viral all over social media, particularly for the energetic Marin Kitagawa who fans absolutely adored. It has a recorded viewership of 581K and a rating of 8.2 on my MyAnimeList. It was confirmed in last September that a second season was officially in production but no other information was made available. However, considering how successful the anime was it won’t be much longer until we get a release date.

    My Dress-Up Darling’s Plot

My Dress-Up Darling is about Wakana Gojou. He’s dedicated to improve his hina-making skills and hopefully be just as good as his grandfather. He’s a loner in school. All that changes when the bubbly and popular Marin Kitagawa discovers that Gojou is very good at making clothes. She reveals that it’s always been her dream to do cosplays of her favorite characters. She asks Gojou to help her realize this dream and make her clothes, to which he agrees and become friends. The series revolves around Gojou making different clothes for Marin. They go to conventions, meet new people and strategize how to make difficult pieces of cloth. With all the time they spend together, Marin develops feelings for Gojou.

Finally, you can watch My Dress-Up Darling on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
