NetherRealm Studios has announced that the next official Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Kast livestream will occur on August 24. The event will focus on Rain, Sindel, and General Shao.
Mortal Kombat 1 is the next major entry in the beloved Mortal Kombat franchise. The game is set to release in September with new modes, a wide variety of unique characters, and brand-new ways to play. NetherRealm Studios will reveal more information on the upcoming release in the forthcoming weeks.
When and Where to Watch the August 24 Kombat Kast Livestream
The August 24 Kombat Kast for Mortal Kombat 1 will begin on August 24. It will be set for the following times:
- 10 AM PDT
- 12 PM CDT
- 1 PM EDT

The Kombat Kast will focus on Rain, Sindel, and General Shao. Alongside confirming the upcoming Kombat Kast, they also released the official backstories for all the characters mentioned above.
About Rain, Sindel, and General Shao
All three of the characters stated above are from the land of Outworld. Rain is a student of sorcery and a master of water magic. According to his bio, he’s hoping to “learn the realms’ darkest and most powerful sorcery.”
Shao Khan is usually a villain in the Mortal Kombat series. In this game, he goes by the name General Shao. When born to a famed Outworld general, he had an infirm body and was frequently quite sick. His father trained him to be a mighty warrior who now defends Outworld by any means necessary.
Lastly, Sindel is the Queen of Outworld and the mother of both Mileena and Kitana. In recent games, she was a secret villain. Based on her backstory, however, her biggest priority seems to be defending her daughters’ birthright. More information will be revealed on all of the aforementioned characters at the upcoming Kombat Kast.
Lastly, Mortal Kombat 1 will release on September 19, 2023. The game will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
