Publisher TAKARA TOMY A.R.T.S and developer syn Sophia announced that Idolland PriPara has been delayed from its original launch date due to server overload. The launch on August 17 proved to be unsuccessful, sending the game into urgent maintenance as the developers attempt to solve the server issues.

Originally, Idolland PriPara was set for an August 2021 release, but a delay would move its planned release to summer 2021. The title was delayed four more times with a delay in April earlier this year. Although the title was set to launch on August 17, server overload caused the game to be inoperable.

Idolland PriPara Delayed Again

TAKARA TOMY A.R.T.S and syn Sophia’s latest update was shared on the official Idolland PriPara Twitter account, revealing the game has been delayed to August 23. The game’s servers were overloaded due to the sheer amount of people attempting to play at once. As a result, the game will be in multiple days of maintenance as the developers attempt to remedy the server issues.

The full Twitter thread detailing maintenance may be read in Japanese below.

Once available, Idolland PriPara will allow players to create their own PriPara idol, explore a theme park, and enjoy the “virtual idol life”. Moreover, the app will have an exclusive anime, which is the franchise’s first new anime is over three years. The anime’s run was delayed multiple times due to the game’s delays, but fans will finally be able to experience it soon.

Makoto Moriwaki will director the Idolland PriPara in-app anime at Tatsunoko Productions, and Michihiro Tsuchiya will handle the series scripts. Moriwaki and Tsuchiya are returning staff members from prior PirPara TV anime series. Avex Pictures will produce the music for the app and the anime as well.

syn Sophia is also developing Fashion Dreamer for Nintendo Switch. In Fashion Dreamer, players enter a virtual world where fashion influencers may design clothing to their heart’s content. As a fashion influencer, players create new outfits to earn Likes, send Likes to get new items, and build a top brand of their own to recommend to other Muses. Fashion Dreamer launches November 2 in Japan and November 3 in the west for Nintendo Switch.
