Fast Travel Games and TREBUCHET announced VR sword dueling game Broken Edge is coming to PlayStation VR2 on September 19. Pre-orders are now available in the PlayStation Store, and a new trailer was released.
PlayStation VR2 released this past February as Sony’s latest offering in the virtual reality space. Several titles, including Gran Turismo 7 and DYSCHRONIA: Chronos Alternate, are available in the PS VR2 library, and Broken Edge will be another new title coming to the platform.
Broken Edge Comes to PlayStation VR2
In Broken Edge, players may choose one of nine fighters and participate in duels with opponents across several colorful and fantastical landscapes. A variety of melee weapons, martial arts playstyles, and fencing mechanics are available at the player’s disposal. Players who perform strongly will rise the game’s leaderboards, too.
According to Fast Travel Games, several PS VR2 features are available in Broken Edge:
- Adaptive Triggers: Experience realistic resistance when gripping the hilt or unsheathing the blade.
- Haptic Feedback: Feel the impact of every swing, clash, and connected hit.
- Eye-Tracking: Focus on in-game actions and interactions with little distraction to hone sword-fighting skills.
- PlayStation Trophies: Earn rewards for mastering the art of the sword and defeating opponents.
- New Fighter: Once a respected Samurai, he decided that no master or no lord deserved his blade. Unbond and untamed, meet the Ronin!
“With the power and unique features of Sony’s PlayStation VR2, this enhanced version of Broken Edge will offer even more fluid and visceral sword fighting,” said Guillaume Perreault Roy, Game Director at TREBUCHET. “With PS VR2’s adaptive triggers, you’ll notice the tension as you unsheathe your blade, and with its haptic feedback, you’ll feel the impact of clashing steel. Coupled with its distinctively vibrant landscapes, Broken Edge on PS VR2 is a captivating virtual reality experience fit for apprentices and seasoned swordsmen alike.”
Broken Edge will be available for $14.99 on PS VR2 digitally via the PlayStation Store. Players who pre-order the game will receive a 33% discount, bringing the price down to $9.99.
