Bethesda announced today that Starfield has officially gone gold. For those unfamiliar with the term, this means the final retail copy of the game has been completed and is ready for launch.

This comes just a few weeks ahead of the scheduled September 6 launch, which bodes well for those looking forward to the title.

The game is set to be available to preload starting tomorrow, August 17, across Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows Store. The Steam version of the game will not be available to preload until August 30, just one day before the Premium Edition early access period starts.

Plenty of information about the game was revealed this past June at the Starfield Direct. Over 40 minutes of gameplay mechanics and footage were shown, featuring some impressive customization and an expansive world awaiting to be explored.
