Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot The 23rd World Tournament DLC Shares Launch Trailer

Relive the iconic arc from the original Dragon Ball.

Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 have released the launch trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot “The 23rd World Tournament” DLC. This new DLC tells the story of Goku and Piccolo’s ultimate battle before the start of Dragon Ball Z.

The World Tournament DLC brings Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players back to the original Dragon Ball manga and anime to relive the showdown between Goku and Piccolo (Ma Junior). Unlike the battles from Dragon Ball Z, The World Tournament’s rules restrict combat to the floor.

In the new DLC, players will experience the iconic battle between Goku and Demon King Piccolo. After clearing this encounter, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot shifts its focus to the 23rd World Tournament three in-game years later. Goku is now a teenager, and Demon King Piccolo’s son is ready to seek revenge.

Players must adhere to special rules in the 23rd World Tournament. For example, fighting is restricted to the floor, and an opponent being knocked out of the ring results in a ring out. Master moves and defeat foes to advance to the next battle in the tournament. Once more, Goku and Piccolo’s iconic battles from the Dragon Ball anime and manga will be a focal point for the DLC.

The 23rd World Tournament is included with Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Season Pass 2. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players may also look forward to a third Season Pass 2 DLC pack coming soon. A release date for the third DLC pack has not been announced, however.
