DC has announced that DC Universe Online will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in the holiday season. They also confirmed that new story content, gear, and more will be released in October 2023.
DC Universe Online was initially released in 2011. The MMO allowed players to take control of an avatar and work alongside their favorite DC superheroes. More information will be revealed on the game’s launch on current-gen consoles in the coming months.
DC Universe Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
First, Ted Stone, community manager at DCUO, detailed the game’s next update, Justice League Dark Cursed. Players will join forces with Batman, John Constantine, Zatanna Zatara, and more to end a curse raging through the DC universe’s most powerful magic users. The update will include the following additions:
- JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK CURSED will offer normal and elite variations of On Duty content.
- The update will feature open-world missions, solo missions, alerts, and raids.
- The episode will feature DC characters such as Batman, Wonder Woman, Zatanna, John Constantine, Deadman, Hecate, and more.
- The storyline will follow the events of and serve as an indirect sequel to the previous update titled, Episode 34: Justice League Dark.
- Finally, the update will include new player rewards, including gear, styles, and more.
Additionally, Stone fully detailed the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S update, releasing during the holiday season. The update will include several quality-of-life features, cross-play support, and more. He confirmed that more information on the update will be revealed in the coming months. Further, he unveiled a calendar highlighting the updates that will release in DC Universe Online in Q4 2023, Q1 2024, and beyond. Updates include new missions such as “Attack of the Anti-Monitor,” and a massive new update in the future.
Lastly, DC Universe Online is available now on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S port will release sometime in the holiday of 2023.
