During One Piece Day ’23, Bandai Namco and developers Koei Tecmo and Omega Force revealed One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 would receive new DLC. The official One Piece Video Games Twitter account shared a new gameplay clip of Onigashima Luffy and the Gear 5 transformation. The in-game transformation is very faithful to scenes from One Piece Episode 1071, where Luffy entered Gear 5 to battle Kaido. Luffy’s Gear 5 form will not be a separate playable character, so players must use Onigashima Luffy to activate the form.

Two more DLC characters will be available alongside Onigashima Luffy in “The Battle of Onigashima” Pack this September. The second DLC pack will include Uta, who was first seen in One Piece Film RED. Uta will be joined by two more DLC characters. Further, the third DLC pack includes the man who started the Great Pirate Era, Gol D. Roger. Roger is joined by as well as two more characters for a grand total of nine playable DLC characters.

One Piece Episode 1072, the latest episode in the long-running anime series, is now available to stream on Crunchyroll. Luffy is so powerful that Kaido seemingly becomes a joke, but Kaido manages to fight back with respectable tenacity. Luffy’s Gear 5 Giant state is also shown throughout various scenes of the episode.

Lastly, the One Piece anime series is available to stream now on Crunchyroll.
