TOHO released a new “Akira Toriyama World” promotional video for the SAND LAND movie, which premieres on August 18 in Japan. The latest video offers a preview of theme song “Utopia” while taking another look at the movie’s stunning visuals.
Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and ANIMA are producing the new SAND LAND movie with Bandai Namco Entertainment. The movie was originally announced as “SAND LAND project,” which Bandai Namco has expanded to include toys and the new SAND LAND action RPG. This week, the new movie will be the first new SAND LAND project release.

The new “Akira Toriyama World” promotional video for SAND LAND is roughly three minutes long. SAND LAND theme song “Utopia” by imase may be heard in the new video. Additionally, several scenes from the movie are depicted in the video, reminding fans of the imminent Japanese theatrical release on Friday, August 18.

TOHO will open SAND LAND in Japanese theaters first on August 18 with regular, IMAX, 4DX, and MX4D screenings. The new film will premiere in 2024 for North America, but a distributor has not been announced yet. Currently, it’s unknown whether the film will be released in theaters or digitally via streaming services in the west.
