Dragami Games announced the official title for the upcoming Lollipop Chainsaw remake is Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. However, the announcement is accompanied by a subsequent delay, moving the game’s release window to summer 2024.
Shortly after the founding of Dragami Games, Lollipop Chainsaw Remake was announced on July 5, 2022. The intellectual property was purchased from Kadokawa Games, and the new studio decided to remake the title for fans. Warner Bros is also supporting Dragami Games in the making of the new title.
Lollipop Chainsaw Remake Gets A New Title and a Delay
Development of Lollipop Chainsaw Remake is ongoing with the new “RePOP” title. More development time is needed to bring the full remake to fruition, however. The game has been delayed from its original 2023 release window to summer 2024. More details are coming soon, and producer Yoshimi Yasuda shared a statement for fans on Twitter.
“The official title is ‘Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP‘,” game producer Yoshimi Yasuda said on Twitter. “We are working hard on game development, but we need more time. We will do our best to create the game that you will love, so we ask for your continued support.”
The official Dragami Games Twitter account added, “Official Title Announcement: Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. RePOP’s release delayed to summer 2024 for the best gaming experience. Apologies to fans waiting for the latest Lollipop Chainsaw installment, thank you for your understanding. ”
Dragami Games has not revealed platforms for the upcoming remake of Lollipop Chainsaw just yet. The original game was developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, which is led by Suda-51. Lollipop Chainsaw released on June 12, 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 worldwide.
Although Grasshopper Manufacture is not directly involved with development of the remake, fans may look forward to a new Shadows of the Damned remaster. The remaster is “probably” coming to all platforms according to the studio.
