SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio shared new details about Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name including the Daidoji Faction, Akame, and the game’s main story. In Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Kazuma Kiryu discards his past in order to protect his loved ones.
Kiryu becomes an agent of the Daidoji Faction to fill the void left behind after severing his past in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. The iconic protagonist is forced into Japan’s underworld once more in Sotenbori in a story told after Yakuza 6 and before Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. While working as an agent in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, he will meet several figures that call the underworld their home such as Akame and Yoshimura.

A Look Into Kiryu and Akame’s Relationship
Akame is a jack-of-all-trades based in Sotenbori, the entertainment capital of western Japan in Osaka. What role will she have in the story, and how will she affect Kiryu?
Kiryu gets involved in an incident during a Daidoji Faction mission and meets Akame, a mysterious woman who’s acquainted with Sotenbori’s underworld. She uses the “Akame Network,” an intelligence network made of homeless people, to gather information and undertake risky requests.
Akame and Kiryu end up working together and the two become further acquainted. The pair will solve problems involving the underworld, and a drama involving their relationship will unfold.
Daidoji Faction
Kiryu will meet various members of the Daidoji Faction other than Kihei Hanawa, Kiryu’s handler.
Yoshimura (voiced and protrayed by Mitsuaki Kanuka)
“…Kazuma Kiryu. Time for your punishment.”

Yoshimura is a Daidoji Faction manager who appears to specialize in violence. He prioritizes the organization first and foremost, eliminating any who pose a threat. He expresses his contempt for Kiryu since he’s a man who shows no allegiance to the Daidoji Faction.
Boss (voiced and portrayed by Hiroshi Naka)
“If he can’t keep his promises, then our deal is meaningless. Don’t you agree?”

Boss is an old man in a wheelchair and an executive for the Daidoji Faction. He’s shrouded in mystery, and he has strong influence within the organization. Boss demands that Kiryu keeps the promise made to Daidoji Faction.
Head Priest (voiced and portrayed by Ikkyu Juku)
“We still have a ways to go in our training, don’t we? Heh.”
The Daidoji Faction’s head priest.
A man who serves as the head priest of the Daidoji. Detached from his earthly desires, he enjoys playing Go by himself all day long. He is one of the few people Kiryu confides in.
