    Final Fantasy XIV Reveals New Patch 6.5 Content

    The anticipation builds toward Dawntrail.

    Square Enix have revealed new details about Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.5, including new story content and substantial changes. Patch 6.5, titled “Growing Light”, will begin to connect the events after Endwalker to the beginning of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail.

    Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.5 will be divided into two parts with 6.51 releasing in early October 2023 and patch 6.55 in mid-January 2024. According to producer Naoki Yoshida, Patch 6.5 begins the proper build toward the events of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail. In fact, Zero will meet Ryne, an important and fan-favorite character from Shadowbringers. Moreover, the previously announced FFXIV: Stormblood free trial is part of Patch 6.5

    • Main scenario divided in two parts, part 1 releases early October 2023, part 2 in mid-January 2024

    • New Trials: The Abyssal Fracture (Normal and Hard) and The Abyssal Fracture (Extreme)
    • New Unreal Trial: The Singularity Reactor
    • New Alliance Raid: Myths of the Realm Part 3 – Thaleia
    • Duty Support for Stormblood – The Drowned City of Skalla, The Burn, The Ghimlyt Dark
    • Duty Support for all main scenario dungrons from A Realm Reborn through Endwalker
    • Variant & Criterion Dungeon #3 (Normal, Criterion, and Criterion Extreme) at Aloalo Island (6.51) 
    • Matsya will accompany the player to Aloalo Island 
    • PvP Series Five will begin with no changes to the season in Patch 6.5. Season Eight runs from 6.48 on August 8 to 6.51. 
    • Crystalline Conflict Update – Minimap and UI adjustments
    • New Crystalline Conflict map – The Red Sands
    • New Island Sanctuary Updates – new Sanctuary ranks, visions, gathering areas, materials, craftable items, crops, animals, isleworks handicrafts, and structures
    • New “Felicitous Favors” requests from a “felicitous feline” in Island Sanctuary
    • Fall Guys collaboration coming to the Gold Saucer (6.5x)
    • New Custom Deliveries: Margrat
    Quality of Life Features / Adjustments
    • Job Adjustments for PvE and PvP
    • Consecutive aetherial reduction function for collectibles
    • Green dot indicators for newly logged fish
    • Ability to store optional items in the armoire
    • IL restrictions for Duty Roulette: Alliance Raid based on level
    • Option to sort teleport destinations by expansion (can be enabled from the teleport settings menu)
    • New reward for obtaining all trial mounts in the 6.x patch series
