Ys X: Nordics Details Rune Stones, Fishing, and More Characters

The world of Ys X: Nordics is full of secrets and characters.

    Published:

Nihon Falcom revealed new details about Ys X: Nordics including Rune Stones, fishing, and several more characters that Adol and Karja will meet. The duo may grow stronger by collecting Rune Stones, and fishing is a rather self-explanatory mini-game.

In Ys X: Nordics, Rune Stones are scattered throughout Obelia Bay. When Adol and Karja put their hands on the stones, they’re able to read the stories contained within. The characters may discover what happened in Obelia Bay’s past, including the roots of of Karja and the Balta Army. Rune Stones also grant Mana Seeds, which may be used to upgrade Adol and Karja’s Release Lines and earn new abilities.

Adol and Karja may fish in the waters of fields and dungeons. Pick a spot and bait, cast the reel, and wait for a “Hit” prompt to begin mashing buttons or moving the control stick. Once the fishing gauge at the top of the screen reaches max level, the player will be able to catch a fish. Players may also fish in Obelia Bay from the Sandras ship and earn rewards from Joel, a fishing aficionado that joins the crew.

“…I have no interest in being friendly with the guys at Karnack.”

“Hehe. If they mess up, they and their boat are as good as dead.”

A veteran boat-builder in the Balta Navy. He maintains the Sandras for Adol and Karja. He is looked up to as inspiration by Cruz, and although a tad awkward, he makes a sincere effort to listen and interact with him.
