Bandai Namco announced free-to-play PvP shooter Gundam Evolution will end service on November 29 across all platforms. Seasonal content will continue to be introduced leading into the game’s shutdown later this year.
The permanent shutdown of Gundam Evolution was announced in an official notice from game producer Kazuya Maruyama. Gundam Evolution’s development team wanted to create a title that would bring FPS and Gundam fans together from around the world according to Maruyama. However, the team determined that it was no longer possible to provide a service that satisfies its players. Maruyama then proceeded to share a schedule for the shutdown of Gundam Evolution.
Gundam Evolution Shutdown Schedule
Gundam Evolution will shut down on November 29 at 5:00 p.m. PT / 8:00 p.m. ET, and Seasons 6 and 7 will proceed as planned. Mission Briefing Final will air on July 21 at 11:00 p.m. PT to detail the game’s upcoming content. The live stream will also go into further detail about the end of service announcement. Five days later, Bandai Namco will disable sales of EVO Coins and EC Pod Limited and end updates to EC Pods, CAP Pods, and Ticket Pods on July 26 at 6:00 p.m. PT. Refunds will not be offered for remaining currency after July 26. Bandai Namco will create more opportunities for players to earn Capital Points through login bonuses, events, and campaigns.
The Season 6 update will launch on August 23 featuring one new unit and two new maps. Season 7 is currently slated to launch on October 25, just one month before the game’s shutdown. Players can expect one new unit and one new map in Season 7.
