Famitsu revealed its August 3 magazine issue will contain a special feature for Final Fantasy XVI and singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu, the talented mind behind the game’s theme song. The new issue will launch on Thursday, June 20 in Japan.
As previously discussed, the theme song of Final Fantasy XVI is “Tsuki Wo Miteita – Moongazing” by Kenshi Yonezu. Yonezu’s most recent work includes the opening song “Kick Back” for the highly popular anime, Chainsaw Man. Yonezu is a lifelong fan of Final Fantasy and producer Naoki Yoshida is a fan of Yonezu’s music, so the two linked up during development of Final Fantasy XVI.

The August 3, 2023 issue of Famitsu delves into the production of “Tsuki Wo Miteita – Moongazing” for Final Fantasy XVI in an interview with Yonezu.
