Modus Games has revealed a new trailer for Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons that shows some of the game’s playable characters. It will feature eight characters, each with unique moves and skills.
Double Dragon Gaiden is another entry in the prolific Double Dragon franchise. It will feature rogue-lite elements that provide a unique spin on the beat-em-up genre. The game will be released on July 27, 2023.
Double Dragon Gaiden Playable Characters
The official trailer details the eight playable characters in Double Dragon Gaiden. First, there is Billy and Jimmy Lee, franchise mainstays that use a combination of punches in kicks. Then there’s Marian, who uses a gun and projectile attacks. Uncle Martin and Abobo are the roster’s heavy hitters. Chin Tai Mei uses a pair of buttons, while Linda uses a hook chain to reel in enemies. Finally, there is Burnov, who seems to have attacks based on wrestling. Each character has a unique series of upgrades, skills, and moves. Fans should look forward to exploring the capabilities of every playable character.
Double Dragon Gaiden is described on the official website as follows:
“Prepare to throw down the Double Dragon way in this fresh addition to the iconic beat ’em up franchise. It’s the year 199X, and nuclear war has devastated New York City leaving its citizens to fight for survival as riots and crime engulf the streets. The city has been overtaken by criminal gangs who terrorize its ruins as they fight for total dominance. Unwilling to endure these conditions any longer, young Billy and Jimmy Lee take it upon themselves to drive the gangs out of their city.”
Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons will release on July 27, 2023. It will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and the Xbox One.
