SEGA announced the Sonic Frontiers “Sonic’s Birthday Bash” update is now available on all platforms. The second major update for Sonic Frontiers brings several new pieces of content for fans to enjoy for free.
Sonic the Hedgehog celebrates his birthday with new cosmetics, decorations, and stages to explore in Sonic Frontiers. Players may use the returning Spin Dash ability to zoom through new challenges. Moreover, the Sonic Frontiers update introduces new collectible Koco to discover on Starfall Islands. These new Koco will have celebratory gear on to wish Sonic a happy birthday. After fully completing what Sonic Frontiers has to offer, players may start New Game+ mode after installing the Sonic’s Birthday Bash update.
Sonic Frontiers players may look forward to more new content in the form of a third major update launching later this year. This new update will bring new story DLC alongside new playable characters such as Knuckles and Tails. Writer Ian Flynn returns to pen the original story scenario for the new Sonic Frontiers DLC.

Sonic Frontiers ‘Sonic’s Birthday Bash’ Update
Sonic Frontiers is one of SEGA’s top performing titles in the past fiscal year with over 3.5 million copies sold, and the franchise’s momentum continues onward. This fall, Sonic Superstars will allow players to control Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose soon across various new stages. These characters may harness all-new Emerald powers to move and attack in “dynamic new ways.” The villainous Fang returns, and players may battle him and Eggman in four-player co-op.
Finally, Sonic Frontiers is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam worldwide. Sonic Superstars launches in fall 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
