Konami shared more new details about Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1, confirming a physical edition will be released. However, the Nintendo Switch physical edition of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 requires additional downloads to a total file size over 50 GB.
According to the newly updated Metal Gear Solid website, the total game file size for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 is 24.1 GB on Nintendo Switch. An additional 30 GB is necessary for those wanting to browse bonus videos. The physical Nintendo Switch game cart is front loaded with only 2.4 GB of data. As a result, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 physical edition will require additional downloads on Nintendo Switch.
As previously discussed, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 includes the original Metal Gear Solid game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Additionally, the collection includes Metal Gear (MSX, NES), Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (MSX), and Metal Gear: Snake’s Revenge (NES). Metal Gear Solid includes VR Missions and Special Missions, and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater are based off of their HD Collection versions.
