In Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, you can marry any eligible candidate, no matter what your gender is! So don’t feel as if you have to play uncomfortably! Make your character however you want!
How to Build a Relationship
Building a relationship is pretty easy, and consistency is key (just like in real life!) First thing first, you gotta talk to the person. That alone nets you a few points. Next, you can present them with gifts. Gifts they like will increase your relationship, and gifts they dislike will take away relationship points. Spoken responses also do this; there are positive and negative things that you can say.
Here’s a list of things that Gordy likes:
NOTE: This particular list is composed in such a way that you can follow it to give her multiple items per day rather than one.
- 1 Milk/Milk Soup
- 1 Egg
- 1 Egg Soup
- 1 Flower
- 1 Digging Site Item
- 1 Crop
How to Check Relationship Status
The easiest way to check your Hearts with Nami is to crack open your menu and tab over to the people tab. You can also do it the old-fashioned way; check out her diary in her room on her desk. (Diary hearts are half of what the menu heart value is ex. 6 menu = 3 diary)
Relationship Events
There are special events that you can view as you grow your relationship. These are not necessary to view, but they do help endear you further to the characters.

How to Propose
You REQUIRE the Blue Feather if you’re gonna propose. The Nature Sprites give it to you automatically on the first day of Summer, Year 1. You must have maxed out hearts
Once engaged, you can’t see any other single’s events. So, if you want, you can try to view every single person’s events before settling on your spouse. Although, you can see some other character events during the second year.
This version of the game includes bonus events that happen when doing certain activities after you’re engaged.
Reverse Proposal?!
If you haven’t proposed to anybody by the end of the year, Takakura will urge you to make a choice. If you don’t have a good enough relationship with anybody, your options default to Cecilia and Rock. If you refuse them, then you get an early game end. Unique scenes are tied to this, so feel free to focus on farming if you don’t wanna spend too much time building a rapport.
