With Final Fantasy XVI set to release in just a few days, fans may wonder what the post-game content will entail. Final Fantasy games usually have some form of post-game. Final Fantasy VII Remake, for example, featured a pseudo-new-game-plus mode. It allowed you to revisit previous missions with greater difficulty and all your items from the last playthrough. Thanks to an IGN interview with Director Hiroshi Takai and Combat Director Ryota Suzuki, it is now confirmed that Final Fantasy XVI will feature a new game plus mode. ‘Final Fantasy Mode’
New Game Plus is unlocked after beating the campaign. It will allow you to carry over all your items, abilities, and level progression into a new playthrough. The unlock also comes with an extra mode. Titled ‘Final Fantasy Mode,’ it will feature more challenging enemies in different spots and completely different enemies in some instances.
New Game Plus also features the ability to upgrade your weapons to greater levels and create your own accessories for greater customization. There are supposedly other new surprises that haven’t been revealed yet.
Another new mode unlocked after you beat the main game is ‘Arcade Mode.’ ‘Arcade Mode’ allows players to replay previous stages with a leaderboard. There is also a score added that will enable them to compete with people worldwide.
With it comes an added difficulty. Titled ‘Ultimaniac,’ it will be even more challenging than ‘Final Fantasy Mode.’ The extra difficulty will only be available with ‘Arcade Mode.’ These options allow for greater replayability after you beat the game for the first time.
Release Information
