Ubisoft just announced Star Wars Outlaws at the Xbox Showcase. The game will be developed by Massive Entertainment, as well as LucasFilm Games. Massive Entertainment is primarily known for its work on the Division series. The game will be the first true open-world Star Wars game and will release in 2024. Plus, the first cinematic trailer officially released alongside the reveal.
A New Experience from the Star Wars Universe
Ubisoft released the first piece of information alongside the announcement. “Experience the first-ever open-world Star Wars™ game, set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi,” Ubisoft PR states. “Explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. Risk it all as Kay Vess, an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. Fight, steal, and outwit your way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as you join the galaxy’s most wanted.”
The official press release confirmed more details about the story and characters. Humberly González will play Kay Vess. Famed voice actor, Dee Bradley Baker, will portray the character of Nix. The premise will focus on the main characters trying to pull off “one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen.”
Gameplay Reveal Soon
Lastly, Ubisoft confirmed that the first gameplay for Star Wars Outlaws will be unveiled at their official showcase on June 12th. The event will begin at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET. Further, the game will release in 2024 on the Xbox Series X|S. It will be playable on day one on Xbox Game Pass. It will also be available on PC and the PlayStation 5.
