One of the more surprising reveals at Summer Game Fest was the confirmation of Spider-Man 2‘s release date. The next entry in the franchise will release on October 20th, 2023, right around Halloween. But with the announcement came information on how to pre-order the upcoming release. On the surface, however, the process of pre-ordering Spider-Man 2 seems far more complicated than it should be. So here’s everything you need to know about how to pre-order Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Pre-Order Information
The PlayStation blog post from Insomniac details full details about how to pre-order Spider-Man 2. The ability to pre-order will begin on June 16th, 2023 at 10 am local time. It will be available PlayStation Store, local retailers, and PlayStation Direct. There are a few different versions of the game that will be available for pre-order.
First, there is the base version, available for 70 dollars. It comes with the base game with no other bells and whistles. However, if you pre-order it, you get early access to two costumes. You also get three color variations per suit, three extra skill points, and the web grabber gadget early in the game.
Next, there is the digital deluxe version. Available exclusively on digital markets, this version costs 80 dollars. The edition comes with the aforementioned pre-order bonuses, as well as two more skill points, and additional Photo Mode frames and stickers.
Ten costumes will also be included, five each for both Peter and Miles. The costumes will be designed by veteran artists from comics, movies, and other PlayStation studios. Kris Anka, Across the Spider-Verse character designer, Sweeny Boo, comic book artist, and Raf Grasetti, Santa Monica Studio artist, will each work on their own costume. These are just a few of the artists working on the bonuses.
Collector’s Edition
The final edition of the game is the collector’s edition. This edition comes with a Steelbook Display Case, the digital deluxe voucher, the pre-order bonuses, and a 19-inch statue of Peter and Miles taking on Venom. The collector’s edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available for 220 dollars.
On June 16th, it will be available on PlayStation Direct in the following locations: the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, Spain, and Portugal. However, for players not in those countries, there will be more information later on how to acquire the collector’s edition in other regions.
