During PlayStation Showcase 2023, Konami announced Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, a collection of classic Metal Gear Solid titles launching in fall 2023. The announcement came alongside the highly anticipated reveal of the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 includes the original Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Additional platforms outside of PlayStation 5 were not named, but Konami confirms the collection comes to “the latest platforms.” The existence of a first volume implies that Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and other Metal Gear titles may come in subsequent volumes. These assumptions turn out to be warranted as Konami teases more titles on its official website, which includes several new screenshots. Moreover, Konami shared an official message by the development team.

Simultaneously, we will deliver the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection series, the most complete compilation that celebrates the 35th anniversary of the series. The collection allow fans to play the games as they were, as first released on the latest platforms.
