Alan Wake 2 Gets a Release Date Trailer

    Alan returns this fall.

The long-awaited sequel to Remedy’s Alan Wake finally has a release date. The original game initially debuted in 2010 as an Xbox 360 exclusive title. However, you can now play the original game on every current platform if you have not yet experienced it. It may also be worth checking out Control if you haven’t as well, as it takes place in the same universe as Alan Wake. This sequel will place a greater emphasis on horror, and it shows in the new trailer revealed during the 2023 PlayStation Showcase.

The Alan Wake series takes some heavy inspiration from the works of Stephen King and David Lynch. Alan Wake 2 will likely be a mind-bending, supernatural thriller that keeps players on their toes. The game will follow Alan Wake himself and Saga Anderson as she investigates ritualistic murders in the community of Bright Falls.

More Info on Alan Wake 2

Here is a description of Alan Wake’s story in Alan Wake 2 from the game’s website (may contain spoilers for the original game):

Alan Wake went missing in 2010. He was a bestselling writer based in New York City. On a vacation in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Alice Wake, he came face to face with a force of supernatural darkness. It brought Wake’s writing, a horror story, to life. He fought this dark presence and managed to banish it back to where it came from, a nightmarish dark place hidden under a caldera lake outside the small town of Bright Falls. Wake wrote an ending to his horror story and with that freed his wife from the darkness under the lake but became trapped there himself.

Alan Wake is not dead, although he has wished he was many times. For 13 years he’s been a prisoner in the Dark Place, where his nightmares, his fears, and his stories manifest as reality around him. For 13 years, he has been fighting to stay sane and write a story that would change reality around him in order for him to escape. So far, he has failed.

    Release Date Trailer:

Players can expect to enjoy Alan Wake 2 on October 17 later this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It is on our list of this year’s scariest upcoming horror games. Hopefully, this will be a perfect game for the Halloween season. Be sure to keep an eye out for more coverage of Alan Wake 2!
